Easter

People celebrate Easter to mark resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

Easter comes annually on the first Sunday after paschal full moon day (The full moon day that comes after March 20)

Easter is a festival of forgiveness and renewal of live.

Tradition Easter food:

Easter eggs:

Parents place small chocolate/jelly bean eggs in the wicker baskets filled with straw and hide that for their children to find. But children will be told that basket was left by Easter bunny. These eggs and bunny represent the fertility .These days Easter Bunny has became as synonymous with Easter as Santa Claus is with Christmas.

Simnel cake:

Fruit cake filled and covered with almond paste having 11 almond paste balls on the top to represent 11 disciples of Jesus except Judas.

Easter Biscuits:

Biscuits made with spices, currants grated lemon rind.

Prayer:

O Jesus, King, receive my prayer,
and consider my supplication as a pledge to You.
For you, O living King,
have gone forth and gone up out of Hell,
as Conqueror.

Woe to those who have rejected you;
For, to evil spirits and demons, you are sorrow,
to Satan and to Death, you are pain,
To Sin and Hell, you are mourning.

Yet, O how joy has come today,
for those who are born anew.
Therefore, on this great day,
We give great glory to You,
who died and is now alive,
that to all you may give life and resurrection!
